Thank you for your interest in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. Membership in our great Fraternity is built on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service. We seek men who are committed to uplifting their communities, developing strong leadership skills, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and excellence.

Founded in 1914, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has a long-standing tradition of producing leaders in business, education, public service, and community advocacy. Membership provides opportunities for personal growth, professional development, and lifelong brotherhood.

Who Can Join

Membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is divided into two categories:

Collegiate Membership

Collegiate membership is open to men who are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and are actively pursuing a baccalaureate degree.

Collegiate Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be enrolled at a recognized college or university

• Must have completed at least one academic grading period

• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

• Must meet all Fraternity membership intake and development requirements

Alumni Membership

Alumni membership is open to professional men who have completed their undergraduate education and hold a baccalaureate degree or higher.

Alumni Eligibility Requirements:

• Must have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university

• Must not hold current or prior membership in another intercollegiate fraternity (excluding honorary or professional fraternities)

• Must apply through a chapter located in the region where the applicant resides
